Labor export 2023 - Promising high quality market

In 2023, workers can go abroad to work easily when many countries and territories plan to attract Vietnamese workers.

According to data from the Department of Overseas Labor (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs), by the end of November, the whole country had 122,004 laborers working abroad under contract, reaching more than 135%, exceeding plan for the whole year of 2022. Thus, the number of workers going abroad to work has far exceeded the plan, which is an important premise for labor export activities in 2023.

Fast procedure

Many experts on labor - employment believe that the opportunity to go to labor abroad is open to workers (employees) who have just lost their jobs or are at risk of losing their jobs. Compared to previous years, working abroad has never been easier and simpler than it is today. Quick procedures, reasonable costs, many suitable jobs, diverse forms of work, high income are the factors that attract people to work abroad.

Opportunities to work abroad are wide open for Vietnamese workers

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Trung, General Director of Sovilaco International Human Resources Joint Stock Company (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City), said that the labor export field will explode in 2023, because of positive signals from traditional markets to new high-end markets. In traditional markets, the community factor will help attract more domestic workers to work abroad. For example, Japan, Taiwan (China) and Korea are places where a large Vietnamese community is living and working.

According to Mr. Trung, the high income level and diversity of work programs are the strengths of the Korean market. Every year, this country receives about 59,000 foreign workers to work under the EPS program. Besides, every year, the Korean government also allows 89 localities across the country to recruit tens of thousands of foreign seasonal workers to work for up to 5 months. In addition to the agricultural sector, Korea plans to expand fishery jobs for seasonal workers in 2023 such as seaweed farming, abalone production, oyster processing...

"The seasonal work program is very suitable for older female workers because of the short travel time, very low cost, and simple recruitment requirements. Older female workers who have lost their jobs in the country should learn about this program, go twice a year, maybe go many times for many years. If done well, the income for the 3 months or 5 months is definitely higher than the whole year working as a worker in Vietnam "- Mr. Trung said.

In Japan - the market that has received the most Vietnamese workers in recent years, the government is considering tax exemptions and increased allowances for Vietnamese interns and employees. At the same time, plan to organize specific skills labor exams in 2023 to create conditions for interns who have returned home to return to work. This country is also completing the final step for the Japanese job portal so that Vietnamese workers can directly search for job opportunities in the land of the rising sun.

Many potential markets

In addition to the traditional market mainly for unskilled workers, the high-quality labor market for skilled workers also promises to explode in the next year when many countries take a series of measures to attract foreign laborers.

Currently, many European countries are increasingly inviting Vietnamese workers in many forms. For example, in Germany, at the end of November, the government of this country decided on "key points" on reforming skilled labor immigration. Accordingly, it will become easier for foreigners to study or train in Germany. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese workers in industries such as nursing, construction, restaurant - hotel, auto mechanic, food processing...

"The resumption of German certification exams is the first advantage for Vietnamese workers who intend to come to Germany to study and work. The forms of coming to Germany to work are also more diverse. 2023 will be the year Vietnamese workers boomed to Europe to work, including Germany," said Mr. Du. Besides Germany, European countries such as Denmark, Finland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy... are also looking for ways to attract and recruit Vietnamese workers. Many countries prioritize recruiting Vietnamese workers because they have been accepted by many markets. Recently, because of the shortage of labor - especially in the fields of agriculture and health care, Finland has focused on attracting laborers from Vietnam for these positions.

Potential markets other than Europe will also be the focus of attention of skilled workers in 2023. That is Australia, New Zealand and Canada, these three developed countries are racing in an effort to attract foreign workers to fill the gap in human resources that are negatively affecting the economic recovery process after the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the Australian government announced a visa program for workers in the agricultural sector and selected Vietnam as one of four priority countries to join this program early. After 1 year of completing legal procedures, from 2023, Vietnamese workers can come to Australia to work in the agricultural sector with an income of 80 million VND/month.

Meanwhile, the Immigration Department of Canada has just announced its immigration plan for the period of 2023 - 2025. In the immediate future, Canada aims to welcome 465,000 migrant workers next year, this number will increase to 485,000 people in this year. 2024 and 500,000 people by 2025. This is part of a plan to address severe labor shortages and respond to population aging trends, while attracting immigrants to rural areas in Canada.
